Educating the students of today to be the world citizens of tomorrow

The MYP Curriculum

The MYP curriculum is represented by an octagon of eight subject areas, shown in the diagram below.

All students must study at least one subject from each of the eight subject groups (with the exception of language B which maybe dropped when two language A subjects are followed).

Where language A is not a possible route of study students need to follow a self-taught mother tongue. The ISG will support parents in this process.

The following subjects are offered at the ISG and the Maartenscollege within the Middle Years Programme.

Curriculum content

Whilst there are specific subject objectives laid down by the IB MYP these are reasonably minimal and allow creativity from our teachers to ensure that the MYP meets the requirements of the student population. In the TTO this is of course the VWO level, and in the IS, the needs of the students to move onward to the DP or other forms of education.

To give you an idea of what we teach, curriculum outlines are available for all parents and students. Older versions can be accessed here:

Pleae note, these are no longer updated and therefore the most recent versions are only available to parents of the school, via Managebac
