Workshop A: Bright Ideas
Guiding Question: How can I recycle old plastic bags into a bright and useful gift that makes a difference?
You will focus on: being “thinkers” and being a “principled”
Description: You will be taught by an passionate environmentalist how to reuse and recycle plastic bags that you give away to people around the school for a small donation to the Summer Project chosen organization.
Workshop B: Trade it, swap it & flog it
Guiding Question: Can I exchange my object for something of more material value?
You will focus on: being “reflective thinkers taking risks”
Description: Seen on the news how to trade a paperclip for a Porsche? Well now you get to have a go at doing the very same thing. Curious?

Workshop C: Origami
Guiding Question: Can I make something creative for a good cause ?
You will focus on: being “creative” and “thinking how to go slow”
Description: In this workshop you will learn how to see a piece of paper differently from a world class paper folder. These newly learned skills will then be put to good use and you will create an original handmade zoo that you will present and sell to raise money for the Summer Project chosen organization.
Workshop D: Guerilla Gardening
Guiding Question: Can I raise money for a good cause by using my green fingers?
You will focus on: the local community and be a “communicator”
Ever fancied making a difference in a green way? Ever fancied getting outdoors and smelling the daisies whilst topping up your tan? In this workshop you will learn basic gardening skills and designing a garden and then roll up your sleeves and go green in the locality.
Workshop E: Little Mermaid hits the streets of Haren - Living Statutes
Guiding Question: Can I entertain passersby as a living statue and encourage them to donate money to a good cause?
You will focus on: being “a risk taker” and “communicating” and a need to be open minded
Description: Ever wondered how those people on La Rambla in Barcelona stay still for so long? In this workshop you will dress up as living statues in Groningen and make passers-by think WOW. You will also make a PowerPoint of your experiences.
Workshop F: It's a load of rubbish
Guiding Question: What is the impact of dropping litter on the lives of some of us?
You will focus on: being “reflective, principled” and “caring” about your community’s appearance
Closely observe your fellow pupils and their litter bug habits and see how this impacts on your community.
Workshop G: Hallmark Copycats
Guiding Question: Can I make greeting cards that make people smile?
You will focus on: being “caring” and “reflective”
Description: Ever thought that you could do better than Hallmark? In this workshop students will make greeting cards that make people smile. These will be sold to raise funds on the second day of the summer project.
Workshop H: Slumdog millionaire shanty town
Guiding Question: What is the impact of an economic crisis on the lives of some of us?
You will focus on: being “reflective” and being “caring”
Live the hobo life and see what it is like to live on the underbelly of society.
Workshop I: Arty Party in Grunn
Guiding Question: Can you create a painting and or drawing of an outside scene and make an exhibition to raise money for charity?
You will focus on: being “communicators” and “risk-takers”
Description: Calling all those budding Vincent van Goghs amongst you - this is THE workshop for you. In this workshop you will visit a local attraction to draw and paint a scene in your own style that could be exhibited and sold.
